Kitchen is DONE!!!!!

My kitchen is finally done!  YEAH!!  There are no more renovations going on inside the house this year (I am thinking about doing the bathrooms next year).  The only renovation we have left is the patio but that won't be until August.  I am so happy the dust, dirt and people in my house is over.  And I love the way it looks.  I have a few minor things to do like change out the dining room light but that is minor.  The workers did a pretty good job.  There are a couple of small dings in the paint I need to touch up but nothing major.  It was odd though, there were 2 guys and 1 did all the work.  The other guy just sat around and played on his phone all day.

Here is a before picture

There were vinyl floors, formica counters, brown wood and white appliances.  Here is the finished product -

The floors are a  light grey tile the counters are quartz (made by Cambria), the sink is white and a single, the back splash is glass tiles in white, grey, silver and a small amount of a gold/brown. the appliances are all fingerprint resistant stainless steel.  The cabinets are painted white and dark grey.  I love it!  I also changed all the hardware from gold to brushed silver.  Happy, happy.

Here is a closeup of the back splash -

It was tough working around the remodeling for a few weeks but I am glad it is done.  I probably raised the value of the house a lot but we don't ever plan on moving.  I just wanted the kitchen to be what I wanted.

My back is still acting up but I finally received the medication from my mail order pharmacy.  My doctor messed up and instead of sending it to the local place they sent it to the mail order pharmacy so it took a few days for it to get here.  She has put me on steroids for 6 days.  Hopefully that will help.  It is better than it was but I hate that it is taking 3 weeks to get better.  I want to get back into my garden but I can't do that for awhile.

It has been warm, in the 80's, and muggy here this month.  We have had rain off and on for a few days.   One day the wind gust that came through here knocked over the BBQ and ripped off the cover.  Bill and the guys doing the floor grabbed everything and got it upright again even though it was pouring outside.  It was funny because our side of the street had everything blown over but the other side of the street was fine.

We went to Aimee's parents house for Memorial Day.  They have one dog left who is about a year old and we thought about taking him, then we decided not to.  We really have to decide if we want a dog or not.

The rig is finally in the shop so we will be going out camping soon.  We will just be going about 15 miles away but it will be fun.  Need to make sure everything works after that long cold winter.

So that is all for now.  Have a good day.
