More Kitchen Work

The last of the kitchen work is finally starting.  The counter tops, tile and backsplash work has started.  The counter tops came first with the old ones being removed on Tuesday morning and the new counters and sink going in on Wednesday.  On Thursday, today, the sink is being hooked up.  We had to buy a new garbage disposal, even though the old one was put in when we bought the house.  It wasn't compatible with the new sink!

I think the tile floors and back splash will be installed next week.  Then the inside work is done!  At least for another year when I think about doing the bathrooms.  

The sink is really deep.  I almost can't touch the bottom of it.  It is not suppose to stain or scratch so we will see.  I am thinking about getting a protector for the bottom.  

My back is still sore from pulling a muscle and pinching a nerve last week.  It is definitely better but not perfect.  I am still having problems sleeping as I can't get comfortable.  I have slept a couple of nights on the couch as it felt better.  I just wish it would get better so moving doesn't hurt.  I have found that it helps to walk with the cane.  

One of our neighbors has an RV, class C, and has it at his house to get ready for a trip this weekend.  He says there is a state park and lake about 15 miles down the road so we are going to go check it out soon.  Might be a good place to go for a shake down cruise.  

We went to Rory's pre-K graduation on Tuesday night.  It was cute.  He cleans up pretty good.  

School will be out on Thursday and he will be free for the summer.  Now I have to come up with some more activities to do with him.  

We don't have any plans for the holiday, just staying home and sleeping in for a few days.  We have had to get up early the last couple of days so that we were up by the time the workers came.  I hate having to set an alarm.  

I noticed on Facebook that my nephew and his family had some work done on their house in Texas.  They had the kitchen cabinets painted and some other work done in there.  Jaime posted that they had CertaPro do the painting.  That is the same company we used and it looks like we have similar color schemes.
