So it has been almost a month since my last post. A few things have happened so here we go.
I was able to get an appt with an orthopedist about my knee. He wanted to be conservative so sent me to physical therapy before we decide to do surgery. I had been to a local therapy place earlier in the year so I went to them. They were pretty convinced that it is the replacement, not a muscle or tendon so we started on some exercises. This would help even if we do have to do surgery. I had been using crutches and she said a walker would be better for me. Too bad we left a lot of our "sickness" stuff at Mom's house, so I had to buy a new one. It does help a lot and keeps weight off my arms and shoulders. After 2 weeks of therapy I went back to the doctor and we are now scheduling the replacement surgery. Biggest problem is that he is booking into February so I have over a month before then. Here is hoping it works out.
Aimee had to fly to Orange County for a work thing for a few days so we worked with Nick to get Rory taken care of. Nick would get him off to school and we would pick him up from the bus afterwards and take care of him until Nick got home. Aimee left of Sunday morning and wouldn't you know, Nick got an emergency call to go to work so we drove over for babysitting duty. Rory had a birthday party to attend that afternoon so we took him to the local Chucky Cheese! We haven't been in one of those in a long time. They are still loud and full of kids. Rory had never been before and had a great time. Nick met us there to take him home.
We have gotten most of the paperwork done on our trust. Now we are in the process of having the various companies update their records. The house and cars have been re titled, I have sent in paperwork to the various places we have investments to get those taken care of, and the bank account is being changed so I think our trust is now fully funded. Phew!
The weather hasn't been too bad. We have had a few cold days, a little snow that is now gone, some rain and a couple of nice days. We are looking for more snow next year. Wow, 2019 is just around the corner. We won't be doing anything for New Years though. We will probably go to bed early.
Mom plans on having a service for Dad sometime in late January. With my knee I probably won't go but Nick plans on attending. I didn't know the National Cemetery doesn't do services on the weekends. I swear we went to one there on a weekend. Maybe it is something new. I will post a date when I know it.
So we haven't been doing much because of my leg and it doesn't look like we will be doing much for the next couple of months or so. Oh well, as long as it gets taken care of. I hope your holidays are good and the new years brings great things for you.

Hope all goes well and the knee heals up quickly. I may not be able to attend the service either due to money or the lack thereof.
