I finally got a date for my surgery, Feb 6. Now I just have to wait the month before then. The weather here has been cooperating with no real snow so going out hasn't been too bad. We have had a lot of rain though. It appears we won't get any snow until later in Jan so going out with the crutches and walker will be OK.
I am still working on the paperwork for our new trust. What a pain. I think I have it all submitted and now just have to wait for the companies to get around to doing the paperwork. I talked to Mom about her trust and she has some changes she needs to make. She was complaining that it is a lot of work and she doesn't see that it is helping her a lot. I laughed and told her it wasn't for her but for her kids when she passes.
Rory went through his old toys after Christmas and brought some over here to play with. The others were donated. Aimee has him do this every year to help keep the pile down at their house.
Rory was off school for the two weeks between Christmas and Jan 7. One of the days we picked him up and took him to a local place called EnterTrainment Junction. They have the worlds largest train display, a playground and a carnival maze area. We spent about 3 hours there. My walker has a seat so I am able to sit when I need to. Bill really enjoyed the train setup. Rory spent about an hour in the playground and a long time in the maze area. Bill went with him through the mazes the first time then he took off and went through them a few more times. We also had lunch there. I was surprised the prices were pretty good and so were the hot dogs. There is a store there that sells trains and accessories. Bill was drooling when we left that store! He found a number of things he liked. Looks like his collection of trains may grow again.
We did buy a Christmas tree this year and decorated it a little. I do need to get more ornaments next year to fill it in. We also bought some things for the front porch. I think we will add lights outside next year. We have already put all of it away and I didn't think of taking any pictures of them. Oh well.
Our camping group is setting their schedule for next year and there will be one campout in Pigeon Forge next year. We will probably take Rory and Lola with us for that if they want to go I think he would like Dollywood. The first campout isn't until the later park of April. Until then we meet for dinners once a month. The first on is in a couple of weeks at Ye Olde Spaghetti Factory. It is about 25 miles from us but we will be attending anyway. The locations for the others haven't been decided yet but we will go if we can. Our RV has been put to bed for the winter and we won't be getting it out until just before the April campout.
Other than my knee we have both been in pretty good health. With the new year we now have dental and vision insurance so we have appointments for both set up. Keeping our fingers crossed that the rest of the year goes the same way. So that is all for now. Have a great new year.
