We have been busy, busy, busy. I did develop an infection in my surgical site on my knee. I took antibiotics for it. It did heal and I was continuing my physical therapy. The medicine upset my stomach so I wasn't eating and drinking much. That was a bad decision. I became very dehydrated and wound up in the hospital with a major kidney problem. I liked that was losing weight without really trying. I was getting dizzy a lot and called into the doctors office. They had me come in and ran some tests. This was on a Thursday. Friday morning they called and told me to go to an emergency room. The ER I chose is freestanding, it is close to the house, so they had to transport me to the hospital where I spent the weekend and was finally released on Monday. They pumped me full of liquids and also checked for blood clots. Bummer that the weight I lost was water weight. I am doing better but my knee has swollen from all the fluids. It is slowly going down but it will be a few weeks. I can start exercising it again. I was released from PT on the Friday before I went in the hospital. I have had kidney issues for a few years now but this is the first major problem I have had. Now I know how my friend Lydia feels with her kidney issues.
So we have been doing a lot with Rory. He had spring break and we took him out a couple of times. The first time was to Entertrainment. We have taken him there before and he liked it. They have train setups, a playground and some mazes. He really likes the mazes. They have one with silly mirrors -
and one that has a slant room. He really likes this one.
We also took him to a discovery museum. It has a lot of hands on things for kids to do. They recently put in a dinosaur display. We have taken him here before also. He likes a trash truck they have there.
We like to give Aimee some time off from 24/7 Rory. He is a good kid and we have fun too.
Spring is trying to come here. We have had some interesting weather. It is warm one day, then we get rain and wind and cold weather. But the flowers are breaking through.
We have the rig out of storage and getting de-winterized and a couple of small repairs. we have changed our storage lot to one across the street. It is a little cheaper and we also got a spot for the boat. We hope to pick the boat up later this week. We have some cleaning to do on it and also find out exactly what we need to buy for it. The guy is giving us everything they have in it so there is an anchor and a cover. There are also some life vests. We will probably have to buy one for Rory but the adult ones should be fine.
Nick and Aimee went to Boston for a work convention. We watched Rory and Lola for the 4 days. It is fun but also tiring. Anyway, the city was having an Easter egg drop so we took him there. They dropped the eggs from a helicopter and then the kids all ran on the field to collect eggs. Rory is too nice and doesn't fight for the eggs. He did get 5 and someone who got a bucket full gave him a few. He wants to try again next year.
Look close and you can see the eggs being dropped.
So that is all we have been doing. I will try to update more. (I know I say that a lot)/
