Hard to believe I missed Aug, Sept and Oct. We have done a few things. We have taken the boat out a number of times. Bill and I like to go during the week when it is not as busy at the launch. The boat is now at the shop being winterized. No more boating until April or May.
We did go camping in Aug and Sept. We joined the club in Pigeon Forge to visit the Great Smokey Mountains. We have been there before and enjoy the area except for the weekend crowds in the city. The weather was ok but we did have some rain every day. We enjoyed the group outings and driving the park. Rory didn’t get to go with us as school starts in August here and he had to start 1st grade. He had to adapt to all day school but does enjoy it.
In Sept we went camping at a park along the Ohio river. It was the first time there for us. It is a nice campground but it does divide the group. Some park down by the river and some in the upper level. The difference is the hookups. The lower sites don’t have sewers. Unfortunately our rig got an owie so our camping was over for the season as it is in the body shop. Looking forward to next season.
Bill and I drove the car to North Carolina in late Oct to visit the kids there. We stayed for the weekend and had a good visit. We enjoy visiting them.
Our weather turned quickly this year we had 90 degree temps one week and 50’s the next. Now we are in the 40’s and 30’s this week. The warm weather made the tree leaves colors not be as bright this fall. At least there is no snow tat.
We took the family to a performance at the local dinner theater. It was an afternoon show for kids but we all went. We saw the story of Johnny Appleseed. It was to introduce Rory to live theater. He enjoyed it so we will take him to a couple of show next year.
I had to spend a day in the hospital this week. It appears that I have developed a bleeding ulcer. Don’t know how but the doctors are working on it. Bill called 911 when I fainted in the garage on our way to the car on Halloween. He was trying to take me to the hospital. It seems that the internal bleeding depleted me. I received two units of blood in the hospital. I am doing better now but it will take some time for complete recovery. I will keep the blog updated. I am in charge of Thanksgiving this year so we will probably make use of an order from a local store or restaurant instead of cooking the whole thing myself.
Bill is doing fine. His health is good. It certainly helps that he can take care of me.
We were suppose to have two ceiling fans/lights installed in the smaller bedrooms on Halloween day but that got put off due to my hospital visit. That has been rescheduled until later in Nov. we also had the HVAC system replaced There wasn’t much wrong with the old system, it was just old and we got a good deal on the replacement. Since this is our final house it paid to install an efficient system to save on utility bills. Next year we are talking about putting in a water softener system and an on demand water heater. We are also looking at replacing the front door and getting a storm door installed. Eventually we will get the bathrooms redone. It just takes money.
So that is all for now.
