Yeah, so did I. The end of the year wasn't fun so I didn't post. We did do a couple of fun things but I was sick for a lot of it and we didn't do much. November was pretty much a waste as I was sick most of the time but I am better now and moving on.
We did go with the kids for a couple of things in December. Rory turned 7 so for his birthday we went to Kings Island, a local amusement park for their Holiday events. Rory's friend Orlando came along. There was an ice skating rink that Nick and Aimee took them out on. Bill, me and Aimee's parents watched. It was cold but we had a good time.
The other big thing we did was to go to the Cincinnati Zoo to see Santa and see their lights.
We didn't have much snow this winter, at least not yet, but it has been cold and rainy. During the winter break in school we took Rory for a day to give Aimee a break. We spent Christmas day at the kids house. It was fun. I really appreciate Amazon this year. That is how I bought most of the presents. If I had to go to the store and buy things Christmas wouldn't have been as nice. We didn't stay up for New Years this year. Even if our neighbors made a bunch of noise we slept right through it.
January saw us signing up at the local YMCA. I am taking an arthritis aerobics class in the pool and Bill is walking the track and swimming. We are trying to get back into shape. Also we are planning a trip to Ireland and Scotland in the fall and I need to be able to walk better than I do now. I am hoping the aerobics class helps. We also try to go one day on the weekends to walk around the track. I am up to a 1/2 mile and add a lap each week. I hope to be at 2 miles or better by Sept. I am also making lists as to what I need to buy to take on this trip. Good thing we both already have our passports! We are also going to go get our "real id" driver licenses soon but that is not absolutely necessary to travel as we have the passports and our military ids.
We finally got the ceiling fans installed in the office and guest room. They will help in the summer and they have lights on them so the rooms are brighter now. I like them. We have scheduled the installation of a water softener and a tankless water heater during Feb. Bill doesn't want to upgrade the master bath until this is done. The water here has so much calcium in it anything new we put in will get water spots so we are taking care of that first.
We went to an RV show in Columbus and looked at Class C rigs. I think we have finally decided to downsize from the big rig. That will probably happen sometime in April or so.
We went to the local dinner playhouse to see "Nunsense" It was a cute play about a bunch of nuns putting on a show for a fundraiser. The food there is always good. In fact we are going back on Monday, our 41st anniversary, to see a concert. I also was able to get tickets to see the Celtic Women in April in Dayton. That should be fun.
The kids are doing fine. The flu has been going around Rory's school so they have gotten sick a couple of times but that is to be expected in the winter with kids. It takes them down for a day or so and then they bounce back. Oh, to be young again.
Since we can't camp in the winter our camping group holds monthly dinners. We have been to those with this group. It is a good way to keep in touch.
So, there you have it. Four months in a condensed post. Hope you had a great holiday season.
