Monday, April 6

The alarm went off at 6:15 this morning. We got up and put clothes on to head over to the grocery store. We hope to make this the last trip for a couple of weeks. Kroger’s has kept the dirst hour of the day for seniors. We prefer to go then as it is not very crowded. We wore our new face masks. I don’t really like them.  It gets warm under them and breathing causes my glasses to fog up. Anyway we got our shopping done. No disinfecting stuff but just about everything else I wanted was there. The pasta aisle was mostly bare but I did get some. Somehow I spent $160 but we will only have to go out for bread and milk over then next two weeks.  In Ohio they are saying these should be out worst weeks so we want to stay home. We got home and put everything away and I took a shower and put on clean clothes all before 9:00. That is an early start to the day. I do have some meat I need to separate and shrink wrap but I will do that later today.  I washed the masks so they are ready for our next trip outside.

I had a coupon for a free sandwich at Jimmy John’s that exited today so I placed the order online and paid for it that way. All we had to do was pick it up. Since we had a big lunch we decided to have leftover soup for dinner.

I got an email from Delta airplanes about our flight to Scotland/Ireland in September.  Now our flight is leaving three hours earlier than our original booked flight. That means a 7 hour layover in JFK airport.  I assume it will change again long before our actual flight.  I am still keeping positive that we will be able to make the trip. If not we will put it off for another year.

Today was a nice day but we are suppose to get rain tonight and into tomorrow. I don’t think we have any bad storms coming.

I wonder how life is going to change after all of this is over. I know I am going to be very careful about shaking hands and hugging. I will probably only hug family. Will schools change and offer more online classes?  Will people be nicer?  I noticed on the nightly news that there are either fewer murders, burglaries, car crashes, etc or they Re just not reporting them. If that is a trend will it continue or will people go right back to the way they were?

We are donating to the Cincinnati Zoo to help them out. We enjoy going there throughout the year so it is only right we help them.  Besides, Fiona is so cute who wouldn’t want to help. We do pick up to go food from restaurants to help there but not every night. I have noticed that since I am cooking more and can control the salt and fat I am slowly losing weight. Very slowly but at least it is happening.

Bill and I are still walking and doing some exercises at home. Really miss the YMCA.

Time for bed. Night, night
