Thursday, April 23

I woke up this morning experiencing a major arthritis flare. My hands are really sore and painful. I spent the day popping Tylenol every three hours. I am sure part of it was because of the weather (overcast, rainy, and cold) but I also think my medicine is not working as well as it used to. I see my rheumatologist in May and we may be changing what I take. I also took a long nap in the afternoon, which I normally don’t do, because it made me tired.

Because it was raining all day we didn’t do much. No walks, etc. Bill was going thru some boxes in the office the other day and came across my old wedding rings.  Years ago I had to have the original ring he gave me cut off my finger. I had it made smaller to wear on my little finger instead and we bought a plain gold band for my ring finger. A few years after that I got the one I currently wear. I tried to put the old rings on snd couldn’t get them on any of my fingers. Even the gold band that used to fit my ring finger would not fit over the knuckle of my little finger. When the changes to my hands happen slowly I don’t notice them but there have been major changes. I have always known that my arthritis would make major changes in my life but this brought it into focus.

Dinner was a simple affair with ham, stuffing, and corn on the cob.

I have been ordering things we want or need off the internet so I spent some time checking on them. Amazon isn’t doing Prime shipping, next day, on all their items during this time so I keep an eye on them. I also checked our medicine supply and ordered what prescriptions I could. I like to keep a stock.

I called our travel agent to talk about cancellation clauses for the airline and the tour company. I am still not sure if we will be going to Ireland and Scotland this year. We have until early July to make the final payment so I will make a decision in June to go or no go. We did get insurance so we shouldn’t be out any or much money. The virus will determine what we do. I will also check with my doctors for their opinion on traveling.

So that is all for now.
