Weather

We had 7 inches of snow on Tuesday, the 9th.  We got the driveway and walkways cleared on Wednesday.  The rest of the week was fine.

Today, the 15th, we are in another snow storm that should dump 8-12 inches.  We will see tomorrow what that looks like.  The forecasters say the will be more on Thursday.  I will post more pictures tomorrow.

My infusion seems to have helped a bit.  I do feel a bit better that before I had it.  I was surprised it started feeling better so quickly.  I hope that over time it gets better and better.  I know the damage to my joints won’t change but hopefully they won’t get worse.

I had my first COVID shot on Friday the 12th.  It didn’t hurt and I didn’t have any reaction.  The next day my arm was a bit sore to the touch in the spot it was given. My second shot will be on March 12th.  I got the Moderna shot.  Bill’s second shot is on this Sunday the 21st.  He got the Pfizer shot.  We will see how he does with it.

We have been going to the YMCA every day to walk.  Luckily we can do that as it is too cold to walk outside. Also, not all of the sidewalks have been cleared.  We will not go today as we were supposed to stay off the roads and I am not sure about tomorrow either.  We will get our exercise tomorrow clearing the driveway!

We decided to go ahead and use the design and build company to the bathroom redone.  They had some good ideas and took our comments and suggestions.  It looks like the work should start in the middle of March.  They are ordering the materials and cabinets so demolition will start when everything is here.  I know the glass for the shower can’t happen until it is installed but that shouldn’t be an issue.  We will have to use the guest bath until it is done but I will be so happy to have it finished.  I’ll post pictures as it goes.

We had a whole house humidifier installed in our heater during the fall.  Since our heater has been running  almost nonstop it has made a big difference.  Usually my hands are really dry this time of year.  This year they haven’t been bad at all.  I still have to use hand lotion but not near as much and my skin isn’t cracked.  It was a good investment.

So Monday into Tuesday was suppose to be a major snow storm.  They originally forecast 8-12 inches.  About an hour after the snow started they changed the forecast to 1-6 inches.  They said the temperature in the upper layer warmed up  and snow turned into sleet.  We didn’t get much sleet and only got about 5 inches overnight.  Here is what it looked like in the morning.

Not as much as last time but it was heavy as it was a lot wetter.  We went out about 11:00 to clear the driveway and walkways.  I worked on the car and the front walk while Bill ran the snowblower.  We mainly wanted to clear behind the Suzuki so we could at least get one car out if we needed it.  We still have a bit to clear behind the Chevy and along the passengers side.  I can’t lift the snow shovel, it is too big and the snow is too heavy when using it.  I can use the flat garden shovel we have so that was what I used to clear the walk.  We might buy Bill a better snow blower.  The one we have we bought second hand and it doesn’t throw the snow very far.  Of course, if we buy a new one there won’t be any more snow.  I also found the the garage broom comes in handy to clear the snow off the top of the car.  I am too short to use just the snow brush.  This weekend it is suppose to warm up a lot so that should melt most of the snow.  Hey, this is the only time I get to wear my snow boots!we have one more storm coming Wednesday night into Thursday but it is not suppose to hit is for more than 1-2 inches.

Another round of snow tonight is forecast  we needed to get out of the house so we went out for breakfast  we are also going to the Y to walk later today.  This weekend we have a dinner with our camping group at the Spaghetti Factory and Bill’s second COVID shot.  Other than that we don’t have any plans.
