Fall is here

Fall came in quickly.  One day it was 90 degrees and the next it was barely 70!  The leaves are starting to turn and it is staying cool. Time to get out the coats and heavy quilts.

We went to our September camp out in Aberdeen, OH.  It is a campground we regularly go to. The only thing I don’t particularly like about it is that it splits the group. They have some sites on the Ohio river but they don’t have sewers. If you want full hookups you have to park in the upper section, where we go.  At least they do all the meals on the upper part.  The owners are really nice and make home made ice cream for us each year.  We have had a band on Saturday nights too. Across the river is the city of Maysville, KY.  This is where most of the restaurants are. Bill and I went out Tuesday night to a spot called DeSha’s. We went hoping to get prime rib but realized they only serve it on Friday and Saturday nights.  Oh well, we did get steak though.  Wednesday night we ate in the rig.  Thursday we went with most everyone else to an Italian restaurant.  Bill had pizza and I had a calzone.  Both were good.  Friday night we had a potluck with burgers and brats.  I made a pasta salad.  Saturday we had steak and baked potatoes.  I made bacon wrapped sausages for appetizers and also took home made peanut butter cookies.  On Sunday as we were having breakfast before leaving we popped the gfi in the rig and couldn’t get it reset.  We had to take the rig in when we got home for the guys to check it out.  We will have it back before the October camp out.

I noticed at the last two campouts that I am not getting good cell service.  Earlier this year I changed from Verizon to TMobile.  I am not happy as people with Verizon had service at both campgrounds.  Now I have to look into changing again.  I also am looking into changing our car and house insurance.  Most of the contractors we have talked to have told us Allstate is difficult to work with.  I am thinking of changing for this reason.  I still have research to do.  I also have to do some more paperwork for our financials to make sure the beneficiaries are right.  We had a meeting with our trust lawyer and me confirmed what I thought needed to be done,  he also suggested I look at converting my IRA into a Roth IRA.  I am not sure about that as I would have to pay a lot of taxes on it.

We had the lawn aerated and over seeded so I have been watering for the last couple of days.  Days like this is when I really miss our sprinkler system.  I have to move the sprinkler around to get everything wet. Luckily I only have to do this for a few days.  Normally we get rain fairly regularly.  Of course it isn’t supposed to rain for the next 10 days since I want it to.

We got our flu shots for the year.  I didn’t react this time, yeah!

So we are just normal busy.  Have a great time
