Friday the 13th!

Friday, August 13

Well the day didn't start real great as we woke up early to thunder and lightening. Around 6:30 AM someone came knocking on the door warning us that there was a tornado warning in the area. If the alarms went off we were to get to the bath house. Luckily all we got was a bunch of rain. It came down in sheets. Here is what it looked like at our site -

Today is moving day for us. Our plans called for us to leave Ft McCoy and head down the road to Milton, WI. Not with this rain. After an hour or so it finally quit raining and we were able to finish packing up and got on the road. We did run into a pretty good downpour part way down but not bad enough to pull over. When we got to Milton it hadn't rained there yet so we were able to get parked and unhooked. We are in a back-in site so we had to un-hook the car.

It was around 12:30 when we got here so it was lunch time. We decided to drive back in and have lunch at a place called Culver's. It is a hamburger chain that we have seen around here. They serve a butter burger. We didn't have that - I think it is called that because the bun is buttered. Bill had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich, sm fries and a strawberry shake. I had a pork tenderloin sandwich, sm fries and a blackberry malt. It was really good. I haven't had a good pork tenderloin sandwich in a long time.

We took a quick drive around town but didn't see anything that called to us to stop so we just headed back to the campground. The place we are staying at is called Hidden Hills Campground. It is pretty nice but expensive. We are only here for one night but it is $48.00. We normally wouldn't pay that much but we couldn't find anything cheaper in the area. At least we are staying in a Passport America park tomorrow.

It finally started raining here around 3:00 PM and has rained most of the rest of the day. Around 7:00 PM it let up for awhile and we saw this -

Hopefully it won't rain anymore tonight. It is pretty pleasant and I would like to sleep with the windows open tonight. Bill is tired of the air conditioner. It would be nice not to have to hook up in the mud tomorrow.

That is all for now. Here are a couple pictures.

I don't think there is a person alive who doesn't smile when they see a rainbow. I always consider them a sign of good luck coming up, so hopefully the rain will stop and you won't have to deal with it for a while.
