MH hall of fame

Monday, Aug 16

The weather today is really nice. It is not as humid and not as hot. I think it is suppose to be in the low 80's later. Our destination today was the Motorhome/RV Hall of Fame. It is only a couple of miles from the campground. It opened in Aug 2007 in an 80,000 sq foot building. It is really pretty outside and inside. They still have future development in mind but due to monetary issues that has slowed down. When the building was originally built they didn't want to have a mortgage so they raised every penny to build the museum. Currently there is a "go rv'ing" hall that has examples of each type of RV. A vendor's hall, which has exhibits by vendors such as Dometic, KOA, etc. There is also Ingram Hall which houses historic RV's. And don't forget the Hall of Fame which showcases the people who have been inducted. We spent quite a little bit of time here. Unfortunately, my camera battery gave out while we were here and I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted.

After going back to the campground and resting a bit, we decided to take a drive to locate the place we plan on stopping at on Wednesday morning to get the oil changed in the RV. They don't take appointments so we plan on being there when they open at 7:30 AM. Yuck! After that we will take off and head south.

We stopped at a RV surplus place and Bill had a great time digging through the junk, I mean fabulous stuff, that they have. Unfortunately they didn't have the items we were looking for. I did find a nice recliner I liked but Bill wouldn't buy it for me. He said I had to wait until I got a newer RV! Good thing Terry wasn't with us, we never would have left there!

When we finally got back to the rig I fixed leftovers for a light dinner as we had a late lunch. I then set out to do a little laundry. I really only needed to do one load but figured if I had to be there I might as well do everything, or at least as many loads as there were open washers! While I was doing this I also called Terry & Lydia and talked with them. I really miss our friends but enjoy our travels. Here are all the pictures I took. There are a couple of the RV park too.
