Wednesday & Thursday, Sept 15 & 16
Wednesday we didn't do much. Laundry was first on the list. We had visited the places we were interested in so today was a relaxing day. The mosquitoes here didn't get the memo. Every place else we have been to the mosquitoes have stayed away from Bill but not here. He is getting as many bites as I am! Ha Ha!
We did go to dinner at a local place. We asked in the office what seafood restaurant she would recommend but she doesn't eat seafood. I looked a couple of places up on the internet and checked the reviews. The first place I picked didn't open until 5:00 so we drove around a bit but when we returned there was still only 1 car in the parking lot so we decided not to eat there. We drove down the road to another place called Oceana's Bistro. Boy was this a tiny place. They had a big bar and about 6 tables. We beat the crowd but others who came in later had to wait. I had grilled flounder and Bill and prime rib. Usually he has the fish not me. It was just okay, nothing fabulous. For the two of us it was $45 with tip. We each got 2 sides so we both had a salad. I had some special grilled potatoes and Bill had cole slaw. Maybe our problem was that we ordered dinners. The sandwiches I saw going to the other tables looked better than our dinners.
Thursday is a travel day. We are returning to the park we were at before heading to the Outer Banks (or OBX as it is called).
I have an issue with my GPS. I have a Magellan Mastro and have had it for about 4 years. I have noticed lately that the GPS and the mileage on the motorhome don't match. Also, today the mileage from the OBX to Williamston is 4 miles shorter than it was going to OBX. The mileage the GPS says doesn't match the mileage on the motorhome, generally being off by 10 miles. We make every turn exactly as the GPS says so how is there a difference and which is wrong? Something to ponder.
Tomorrow we drive down to Havelock and MCAS Cherry Point, where we will be spending the next month. It is a short trip so we won't be on the road long. Maybe I should call the camp host to check when we can arrive.
That is it for today. Bye for now.
