Our first show

Friday, Nov 5

Today we took advantage of some clear (but cool) weather and checked out the town.  There are places where the traffic is pretty heavy.  I can't imagine what it would be like in the summer.  They really need to make the roads at least two lanes on each side!  We visited old downtown Branson and Dick's 5 & 10.  It is an old 5 & 10 store with lots of interesting things in it.  When we arrived there were a bunch of folks from a bus tour and it was really crowded.  They left before we did so when I went to pay for my one small item the line was a lot shorter.  After the store we walked around a bit and checked out the store.

After our drive around town we stopped back at the Stone Hill Winery.  This is where our friend, Terry, asked that we buy him a case of wine.  He couldn't remember the type but did say it was in a blue bottle.  Shouldn't be a problem, I thought.  When we walked in we found out there were two wines in blue bottles!  After our tour of the winery I called him to determine which one he wanted.  Once that was decided I purchased some for him and some of another for me.

We stayed back at the rig and had stew for dinner.  Soon it was time to head over to the theatre and see Mel & Pam Tillis.  We found out when we got in the car that the power adaptor for my GPS is broken.  We couldn't find the parts so I am going to have to find a new one.  The show was really good.  They sang a combination of their hits and Christmas songs.  Pam performed first for about an hour and after the intermission Mel performed for a little over that.  I got Mel's autograph!

It was after 11:00 PM when we left.  On the drive home I was surprised and shocked when a buck jumped out of nowhere directly in front of me.  I slammed on the brakes and luckily missed him.  I only missed by a couple of inches!  After I settled down I drove back to the rig checking everywhere for more deer.  I didn't expect to see any right here in town.

Enjoy the pictures.
