Surprise! Change of plans

Thursday, Nov 4

We were once again up bright and early.  This morning the folks here are going to put our window back together.  All the windows are still in the car and the car is locked so we have to be up the let them in.  They got right to work on getting the new parts installed in the window and they window into the RV.  The rain stopped yesterday but it was really cold last night and this morning.

Our original plan was to drive across Arkansas and spend a night or two at Fort Chaffee in Fort Smith, AR.  This morning Bill asked if Branson had their Christmas shows and lights yet.  We looked it up and sure enough, the Christmas season has hit Branson.  After finding out it was only 190 miles away we plotted a route and after paying our bill here we took off.  It was around 10:30 AM when we left.

Pictures I took on the drive here -

We decided to stay at the Branson Ozark Country Campground.  This is the park we plan on staying at next June with our friends.  We arrived in Branson around 3:30.  One of the interesting things about here is trying to decide what shows you want to see.  We have changed out minds a couple of times.  We know we want to see the Andy Williams Christmas Show but are still trying to decide on what other shows to see.

When the sun finally set we drove over to the Shepherd of the Hills to check out their drive through light show.  It is two and a half miles of lights and figures.  Here are a few -

They had music playing too.  On the drive back to the campground we noticed another area with a lot of lights.  Turns out it was another light display.  This one wasn't as big but just as nice.

The temps tonight are suppose to get below freezing.  I hope everything doesn't freeze.  Time to get the big blankets out.

So that is all for today.  The life of a full-timer, all plans are set in mud, not concrete.  Being able to change plans is fun.  No set plans most of the time.  Enjoy the pictures.

Wow, that light show is almost identical to the one they do in Portland at the racetrack.
