Boy, I sure have gotten out of the habit of writing in my blog. Since we plan on hitting the road again in May I had better practice.
We have been doing things. The first weekend of the month we went to Chula Vista Marina for a campout. It is in the southern part of San Diego. The weather was good for most of it but it did cool off on Saturday. The weather here has been wild. Hot one day, cold and rainy the next. At least we have had enough rain that the drought has been called off.
We went with my parent to a casino about 60 miles from here for the evening one day. They offer a great buffet dinner at night and the first time you go there it is free! The regular price is $27.99 so it was worth the cost of gas. They have lobster, crab, shrimp, prime rib, steaks, salads, soups, Italian food, Oriental food, Southern food, great desserts, and many other things. It was interesting to be on Weight Watchers and try to stick to it at a buffet. I think I did pretty good. We played the slot machines for a bit before and after dinner. I won $20! Yeah me! Mom and Dad had a good time but I don't think they came out winners.
We drove down to San Diego with our friends Terry & Lydia to check out the RV parking at the State Square Dance that was being held there. In 2013 Terry is the Wagonmaster for the State convention and he wanted to check it out. They only had about 45 rigs so there wasn't much to do. We hope to have more than that. In San Diego it is dry camping (no hookups) and we will have hookups. We have agreed to help them in 2013.
I have been pretty good on my diet and have lost 25 pounds as of today. Yeah me! I hope I do as good when we are traveling as I have done so far. I still have pounds to lose. I am looking at this as a change in the way I live as opposed to a diet. Mainly I am trying to stay away from snacks and cutting my portions down. I know that if I deprive myself of everything I like I won't be able to live that way and I will gain the weight back.
We have a few doctor's appointments left before we take off. They are just checkups, nothing special. I am hoping that I can cut out some of my high blood pressure drugs with the weight loss. I also have my annual physical and mammogram to do. We will get refills of our drugs for the trip also.
So I will try to keep this up to date better.
