Wow, the temps really went up today. And then it turned around and went back down. I thought there wouldn't be as much walking today but turns out I was wrong. One of these days I am going to find the person who writes the descriptions for these trails. A short, easy walk my butt! Maybe for the first 100 yards then it turns into steps heading into the heavens! I am so glad I had my knee done this winter. I don't think I could have done it on my old knee. By the time we got back to the car only my hips were bothering me.
We ran into a couple from Pennsylvania and the husband also served in the Marine Corps. It was fun to talk to them and then we kept running into them at various viewpoints.
We didn't take a lunch this time, just some Weight Watchers approved snacks. When we finally made it back to the rig we decided to have dinner instead of lunch. It was around 3:00 PM. I made porkchops with fresh corn on the cob. Yummy.
We really enjoyed Canyonlands. They landscape is so beautiful, spartan but beautiful. It is amazing what nature can do when left alone. There are arches in Canyonlands as well as in Arches National Park. I don't think I would like being here in full summer. I bet it gets really, really hot. You should know that there is very little water available in the park and no food. Everything must be carried in and out. But we do recommed visiting these two parks.
I am working on my camera to get rid of that blue mark on some of the pictures. It only happens when I zoom in so not many of these pictures have zoom. Enjoy them anyway.
