Moving into Colorado

Monday & Tuesday, May 23 & 24

Monday we didn't do much except the laundry.  We decided not to use the facilities at the campground but went into one of the cities laundromats.  That way it doesn't take all day.  When we finished the laundry we stopped at a local grocery store to pick up a couple of things.  When we left the store it started raining.  We hit some heavy rain on our way back but it was light at the campground.  We didn't do much else as it rained off and on all night.  I did make dinner and then settled down to watch Dancing With The Stars.

Tuesday morning we woke around 3:30 AM to heavy rain.  It rained off and on the rest of the night.  Luckily it stopped when we were ready to unhook and leave.  As we crossed the last of Utah and into Colorado it rained off and on.  It also got really cold.  We are stopped for the next two nights outside of Gunderson, CO at the Gunderson Lakeside Resort RV Park.  It is across the street from the Blue Mesa Reservoir and just west of the cutoff for Lake City.  We went to Lake City about 10 years ago with friends.  We may drive up there tomorrow to see what has changed.  We are currently at 7,700 ft.  And it is going to get COLD tonight.

We went to dinner in town and had pasta at a local restaurant.  On the way back to the rig I saw one of those flashing signs that said the temp was 47 degrees.  And this was at 7:00 PM!  I wonder what it will drop down to tonight.  For those who are thinking about traveling the price of fuel is cheaper outside of Calif.  Here in Colorado the price for diesel is around $4.09.

So tomorrow there should be pictures.  Have fun.
