Last night we decided not to go traveling in the area as we really didn't find anything that thrilled us. We got up late and I made a big breakfast for us to enjoy. We had scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and cinnamon rolls. Yum, yum. We won't have lunch since we had such a big meal.
After we finished breakfast I fixed meatloaf for dinner and put it in the crockpot. Next came cleaning. I had dishes to do, Bill vacuumned and then I swept and mopped the kitchen floor. We did a little bit of picking up since we are leaving tomorrow. We finished around 2:00 PM. I had a letter to mail so we took a drive to find the post office. We also took a drive around the area and was amazed at the houses and yards here. We are about 15 miles north of Knoxville, TN in a town called Heiskell, TN. Tomorrow we head into North Carolina. We plan on being in New Bern on Friday.
We did find a places called the Museum of Appalacia. We walked through the gift shop and looked around the items you could see from the parking lot. Most of the stuff is outside and the sky was getting very dark. I was afraid it was going to rain. Here are the pictures -
When we got home I finished the side dishes for dinner. We had meat loaf, mashed potatoes, beans and hominey. Another good dinner. I made the meat loaf with ground turkey and turkey sausage.
Oh, one thing I didn't mention yesterday about the campground. When we were driving to our site one of the workers (owner?) asked what site we had and I told him 63. He said OK. When I got to the site there was someone parked there. I headed back to the office and told them the same guy said "oh yeah, I just put someone there. OK, what was that about? Anyway, they told me to take 62 instead. I wonder if my cable TV would have worked better in 63?
