We were lucky yesterday...

Monday, June 27

...morning but not so lucky today.  As we were getting up I heard the pitter-patter of rain on the roof.  OK, at least it isn't very hard.  We went ahead and continued getting ready.  Oops, I was outside getting the car ready and Bill was unhooking the water when it opened up and poured!  We both made our way back inside and waited a few minutes for it to let up.  When it did stop we continued our process of leaving.  On the news I heard that a major thunderstorm was heading for the area so we wanted to get out and head south as soon as possible.  It started raining again but not as hard just as we were leaving.  It rained off and on for most of the day.  We did stop at the Welcome Center just over the border in Tennessee.  We had sandwiches of chicken salad that I made before we left this morning.  We only had about 35 miles to go to the campground but stopped anyway.

We found the Volunteer Campground without any problem.  It is a Passport America park so we are in the "super" sites with full hookups.  The only big thing is that the cable TV doesn't work very well.  We were able to find a spot to get the satellite dish to work.  If I was paying full price I would be upset that the cable is so bad.  We talked to others in the campground and they all seem to have bad cable too.

For dinner I made salmon for Bill and chicken for me.  We had cole slaw that I picked up in the store as well as some corn on the cob.  It was a good dinner.  We had a quiet night and it was nice and dark for sleeping.

That is all for today.
