A day out for the girls

Tuesday, June 14

A busy, busy day today.  I had made an appointment to get my hair cut this morning so I was out the door early, well, around 9:30 AM.  I was able to quickly locate the salon with the use of my GPS.  It was actually located in the mall that Walmart is attached to.  I was a little early so I got to spend a few minutes checking out the mall.  They have a stage in the center of the mall that they present performers on.  The salon is right next to it so you get to hear live performers while getting your hair done.  She did a pretty good job.  At least I still have hair, unlike some cuts I have gotten.

When I finished I did a bit more shopping and then drove over to meet the other girls for lunch at Mel's Hard Luck Diner.  It happens to be in the same center Bill and I were in yesterday.  I was a bit early so I stopped and finally took a picture of the Great American Steak and Chicken House that we ate at the other day.

At Mel's Diner the waiters and waitresses also perform.  Most of them have pretty good voices and have recorded albums.  Branson is known as "Little Nashville".  One guys came up behind Betty and was singing to her.  He touched her shoulder before she noticed he was there and jumped a foot in the air.

Since I had already been shopping here I returned to the campground while the rest of the girls shopped.  They brought their many finds back with them when they returned.

We decided to join the group for dinner before we head out to see Noah The Musical.  Lydia asked at the office and they recommended a place called Charlie's Steak, Ribs and Ale.  They said this is where the locals go.  We bundled all 12 of us into 3 cars and headed out.  There was a woman who was singing while you ate.  She liked to snuggle up to the men and try to get them to sing with her.

The food was pretty good, also.  Bill and I split a rib dinner and still brought a third of it home.  Guess what we will be having for lunch tomorrow!

After dinner we drove out to the theatre.  The Sight and Sound Theatre is not on Hwy 76 as many of the theatres are.  It is located outside the main part of the city.

The show is a live performance of the story of Noah and the Ark.  They do a really good job and have many live animals in the performance.  It is amazing they way they have trained many of them.  There is a set of goats that run to different areas on stage a few times during the show.  They also have people dressed as animals and animatronic animals.  Since this is a play they don't allow photography during the performance so I don't have any for you.  This is the last season for this show so go see it if you can.
