Saturday was Nelson's first birthday party! His birthday is actually on the 28th but his party was held on the 23rd. The party was held at Stormy & Bryant's house and it was a rousing success. I think there were about 50 people there at various times. We were able to visit with some people who we met at the wedding a couple of years ago. I enjoyed myself a lot. We had bought a wagon and a cute outfit for Nelson. On Saturday morning we purchased a little rocking horse for him. We met Phillip at the base to help him get a bounce house for the little kids to play in. After that Bill and I went out to breakfast. On our way out of the parking lot we saw the horse sitting outside of a thrift shop. It was only $12 and looks brand new. We went ahead and got it. He can't use it by himself yet but will soon be able to.
Nelson received a lot of presents, both toys and clothes. We were teasing Ashley that she wouldn't have to do laundry except once a month.
The kids really enjoyed the bounce house. Phil grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and they were served with some good sides. Nelson had a couple of cakes and some cupcakes. He really enjoyed digging into his little cake.
Nelson really had a sugar high after that!
There was a good rainstorm later in the afternoon. It helped to cool the temps off and settle down some of the smoke from a fire in the forest. When we got back to the RV there was a rainbow over the commissary.
Sunday was to be our last day here. We spent the morning doing some cleanup and packing in the RV so that we could get out early on Monday. In the afternoon we went back to Stormy's to visit with the family. We had a nice visit and we will really miss seeing everyone. We will probably be back next year. We tried to talk everyone into coming to Calif but I don't think that is going to happen. We did get rain again in the afternoon and evening.
Here are all the pictures I took during the party -
I found I had this picture of Nick holding a crab when I downloaded my pictures so I thought I would post it.
Monday we got up early and got ready to pull out. We were stopping at a local truck service center to get the oil changed before heading out. That took a couple of hours and we were soon on the road. When we arrived at Little Creek base we found out they didn't put the plug back in the oil case. Drops of oil had be spit out and down the back of the RV and over the front of the car. We were able to get the car washed right away and Bill cleaned up the back of the RV. a couple of hours after we got setup it rained. Actually, it was a severe thunderstorm. Luckily we didn't get any hail or any of the wild wind that was around. It looks like when we were getting the car washed the electric at our site was messed up. We are only drawing 30 amps even though we are plugged into a 50 amp system. I think a break in the campground system was blown or something. We will talk to the office tomorrow and either move spots or get it fixed. Since I am running the air conditioner, it is hot here, I can't run a bunch of other stuff. I think I can live with that for a day.
So that is all for now. I hope it stops raining as I am getting tired of it. The humidity is over 100% so it makes it kind of miserable.
That is all for now. I will post again tomorrow.

Humidity is the pits. I remember it in Missouri, when we were in FLA., when I visited VA. and occasionally here, though not as bad as the other places!
