A day spent in research

Saturday, July 7, 2012

Today I spent the entire day at the York Historical Society.  I barely put a dent in my research.  I can tell I will be back here whenever we are in the area.  They had a lot of info.  All I reviewed was a bunch of cards that they keep on the names.  I also reviewed some newspaper clippings but most were current (meaning they were at least in the 1900's).  I did find a lot of info on my various people but there is still a lot left the find.  I believe I did find the burial place of Bill's 3 times Great-Grandfather and Grandmother.  I feel like I am 95% sure that I found the right people.  I never found them before because they moved out of York county!  How dare they!

I now have to scan all the info into the computer so I can post it to my tree.  My butt hurts from sitting in those hard chairs all day.  I back hurts from leaning over the table.  My eyes are sore from trying to read bad handwriting.  At least I did find info.

Bill stayed home and did some things around the rig while I was in town.  Tomorrow we are going to check out some cemeteries.  What fun.  Now if it would only cool off.

Have a good day.
