At first I didn't think we would be doing much but we succeeded in spending most of the day out and about. We decided to go see the movie Brave. That makes 2 animated films in a week. I like the family/kids movies better than all that other stuff. Anyway, we got to the mall where the theatre was early so we bought our tickets and walked around a bit. I had to keep from buying our the Carter's factory store! I have to decide how much to buy now and how much later. I will absolutely be sending something for the baby shower! We decided to have linner (lunch/dinner) after the movie so no popcorn. We really enjoyed the show.
After the movie we walked over to Chevy's Mexican restaurant for linner. We haven't had mexican food for a couple of months now since it isn't Bill's favorite. I did enjoy the meal. We both had a taco and enchilada but mine was chicken and Bill's was beef.
After lunch we walked through the rest of the mall. It is pretty big. Many of the stores are factory or outlet stores but there are many that are "regular" ones. I stopped in the Verizon store to check out the new data plans they have. If I want to upgrade my phones and broadband card I may have to change from my unlimited plan. I did find out that as long as I do nothing my plan won't change. I am thinking about getting a smart phone and upgrading the broadband from 3G to 4G. If I don't want to change plans I will have to pay full price for those devices and they are about $600 each. I know it sounds a lot but the new plans will cost me about $60 more a month so it will only take 6 months or so to net out. My current plan has unlimited data and Verizon is trying to get rid of those plans.
We figured we spent about 5 hours at the mall and the only things we bought were movie tickets and lunch!
Back at the motorhome we rested for a bit. I took a nice nap. Around 8:00 PM we headed over to the parade field to check out the fireworks and other things going on. The base has been open since noon for this event. They had bouncy houses, carnival rides, game booths, sellers of stuff, and food booths. The two booths doing the most business were selling funnel cakes! The lines were rediculously long (over an hour) so we didn't get one of those. I got some kettle corn and Bill had an ice cream. The fireworks started about 9:45 PM (it gets dark really late here) and were spectacular. That is all for now. Enjoy the pictures. The lights at the bottom of most of them are the food booths. I need to spend some time editing these but wanted to post them right away.
