Monday & Tuesday, Sept 10 & 11
On Monday we decided to take a trip down to Lancaster to do a bit of shopping. It turns out I couldn't find a couple of things I was looking for (sorry Dad) but did pick up a couple of items. I also forgot to take my camera with me.
For those that may not know, Lancaster, PA is the heart of Amish country around here. Many of the businesses are Amish owned or Amish run. I didn't find anything special that I couldn't live without but it was a nice day. Bill and I ate linner around 2:00 PM at one of the Amish restaurants. The food was very good and plentiful. They serve buffet style and there was a large variety of items available. This is going to be our big meal for the day, assuming we even have anything once we get home. We visited Lancaster, Intercourse and Bird In Hand. The surrounding area is really being built up and I wonder if one day all of the small businesses are gone because of the chains. I hope not. I bought some apple cider, butter, jam and a soup mix.
It was a pleasant day spent in a pleasant area. We will be back the next time we are in the area.
On Tuesday we stayed home to prep the motorhome to travel on Thursday. On Wednesday we are spending the day at Hershey at the RV show so we will be tired when we get home.
We spent some time in the morning remembering 9/11. Earlier this year we were at the Flight 93 memorial and I looked at those pictures.
I hope and pray this never happens in our country again.
It was a quiet day and the temps are cooling down. In the evenings and mornings it is down right cold. Fall is just around the corner.
Oh, and Happy Birthday Terry.

A friend who visited there said an Amish woman told her that their clothing is all pinned together, no stitching! She said that enables them to alter for pregnancies, to make smaller for youth, etc. She said one woman even showed her.
Do you know anything about it?
