I slept in a bit this morning. It is not getting light as early as it used to be so I am not waking up early anymore. It is also getting dark earlier, around 7:00 PM it starts getting dark. I guess summer is over and fall is here.
Bill spent a little time today washing those Lovebugs off the front of the rig. If you leave them too long they can damage the finish on your paint job.
After Bill finished that we took off to go visit the Blue Bell Creamery facility that is close to here. Well, it is about 50 miles away but what the heck. Blue Bell ice cream is not generally available in California. I have only seen it in the WinCo stores. It is pretty good stuff and they make a lot of good combinations of flavors. We decided to tour the factory and you get a scoop when the tour is over. No pictures are allowed on the actual tour but you can take pictures outside.
Blue Bell ice cream used to be called Brenham ice cream but the name was changed to Blue Bell after the flower, which was a favorite of the founder. Funny thing, the Blue Bell flower is not blue at all but is purple -
It is not to be confused with the Texas Bluebonnet, which is blue.
We enjoyed the tour and really enjoyed the ice cream!
After that we enjoyed linner at a local restaurant called The Country Inn. The food was good. Bill ordered a half order of chicken fried steak. He thought he would be getting half of the usual order. Little did he know the regular order here has 2 big steaks! So he got 1 big steak! I had a hamburger which was really good. The motto of the restaurant is they do beef good!
The drive back to the rig was pleasant. We did pass a bunch of old Ford's, model A's I think. Don't know where they were going but they were fun to look at.
We got back to the rig a little after 3:00 and both of us took a short nap. I don't know if we are going to have dinner or not, still full. Here are all the pictures I took today.
