Last night we took a walk around the campground. When we were walking we saw this -
It really was very small but we don't know anything about it. I also took a picture of the front of the office.
Even though we could sleep in today, we were up early. We had a lot of plans for today. After having breakfast and cleaning up we headed down to the laundry room. Since it was only $1 to wash and $1 to dry we decided to do that instead of in the rig so we could keep some of the heat out. We also got a lot of laundry done in a little time.
Once we finished the laundry we headed into Kingman for lunch. We decided our big meal today would be lunch so we found the Cracker Barrel and ate. It has been almost 9 months since we ate at a Cracker Barrel. I had their grilled chicken salad and Bill had the meatloaf special. He was a little bummed that they didn't have any baked sweet potatoes but he made do. The food was good as always and we had to keep from buying out the store. They had a lot of cute stuff.
Next we found the Route 66 museum that was the main reason we stopped in Kingman. It was an interesting display and had a lot of info. Here are a couple of pics -
At only $3 a person it was well worth the amount. Here is the building it is located in -
Across the street from the Visitor Center/Museum is a train -
Down the road is a railroad museum but we didn't stop there.
Next we headed out into the desert to visit an old ghost town called Oatman. We had been there a number of years ago with friends but thought we would make a day of it. The main draw to Oatman is that there are wild burros that roam the streets. You can feed them if you want. There are also a number of stores to visit. I didn't find anything I couldn't live without. To get to Oatman you travel Route 66 so that is fun too.

Oatman -
There were many pregnant burros there as well as some babies. The babies had signs on them that asked that they not be feed.
We had a very nice day even though it was warm. We returned to the rig and settled into the cool air. Once the sun went down we opened the windows and allowed the cool breeze in. Tomorrow we move on down the road. Here are all the pictures -
