Port Angeles, WA

Sept 29, 2013  Thursday

Today was travel day.  We only had about 135 miles to go so we weren't in a big hurry to leave in the morning.  We did all the unhook chores and returned the cable box to the office.  It was about 10:15 before we left.  We decided to take a different route than the one the GPS recommended so we had to listen to her keep telling us to make a legal u-turn for a really long time.  It was a nice drive up US101 and the scenery was great.  Of course, I didn't take pictures of that.  We are just outside of Port Angeles, WA at the Conestoga Quarter RV Park.  It is a Passport America park so 2 of our 3 nights are only $13 a night.  Even the 3rd night isn't bad at $23.50.  The park is a solid 6.  The sites are a little close together and they don't have 50 amp power but the place is clean and the owners are working on upgrading it.

After we got all settled in we took a drive into town to locate the pier where the boat to Victoria, BC, CA.  We are going there tomorrow.  I hope it doesn't rain until later in the day.  We located the office and the local parking lots, so we are good to go tomorrow morning.

After that we took a little drive outside of town and found the Madison Creek Falls.  It is a small waterfall that is not too far off the road and you don't have to climb a bunch of steps to get to it.

Back at the rig I fixed a later dinner and we relaxed for the day.  Here are the pictures I took of the falls and the campground.
