Moving Inland

Sept 30 - Oct 1, 2013  Monday - Tuesday

When we woke up on Monday morning there was so rain so we quickly went about checking out of the campground.  We had to stop by the office and pay for Sunday night since it was not in our original stay.  Once that was done we got on the road and headed inland.  It did rain in various places during the drive but we didn't have the terrible winds.  At least the rain wasn't coming down sideways!

We are currently parked at the Premier RV Resort in Coburg (but the address says Eugene), Oregon.  It is just off I-5.  We can hear the road noise a bit but not so much that it is a bother.  The sites are concrete, which is nice in this weather, but we have some standing water.  We found a coupon on their website that gave us a free night if you pay for 2, so we are staying the 3 nights.  Just across the freeway is Marathon Coach which we will tour one of the days we are here.

We didn't do much except take a nap after checking in and getting setup.  Neither of us got a good nights sleep over the last few days so we needed it.

On Tuesday we decided to drive over to one of the many companies around here that sell RV stuff.  We were particularly interested in the recliners in one place.  We also went to a place that sells a lot of parts.

We stopped at Elmer's for lunch/dinner and had a good meal.  Somehow we wasted a good portion of the day so we headed back to the rig.

We saw an interesting rig at the campground.  The Oregon Ducks are popular around.

Here is our site -

And looking up the road -

There are still a lot of people out in their RV's this late in the season.  We have been surprised at the number of people we have seen on the road and in parks.

Our plans called for us to head down to Crater Lake but since it is a National Park it is now closed.  We planned to go to the area anyway to visit Diamond Lake but when I called the park I was informed their season ended on Oct 1.  Now we need to make new plans as to where we are going to go.  That took up most of the evening but we have our schedule set now.  At least for the next few days it will stay that way.  We plan on staying at a few military bases so I am trying to find out if the RV parks on the bases are still open.

That is all for now.  Have a good day.
