Oct 3 - 4, 2013 Thursday - Friday
Would you believe we have actually had over 24 hours of clear skies?!? No rain, Yeah! We also crossed into California. They didn't ask any questions at the border crossing.
We spent Thursday night at Premier RV Resort in Yreka, CA. It is a nice park, just off of I-5. We arrived during their office down time so we picked a spot and pulled in. I forgot to take pictures of the park but we would stay here again. After getting hooked up the office opened so we went in to pay. Then we headed over to Walmart to pick up a couple of things. There was one other grocery store in town but we needed some auto things that Walmart had. Back at the rig I fixed dinner and we settled in for the night.
Friday morning we were not in a big hurry as we only had 145 miles to go to get to our next stop. The road was in good shape but it was up and down hills. We saw Mt Shasta and Lake Shasta during the drive.
We stopped twice on our way down. Once, in Weed, CA to get fuel and once in Redding to stop at a Camping World. We were in Heritage RV in Corning, CA for the night. The entrance to this park is odd in that you have to drive through a strip mall to get to the park.
After getting setup we headed out to get my car washed and visited an olive company. They sell olives and olive oil. I picked up a couple of things. They had a chocolate flavored olive oil that they were putting on ice cream (it tasted pretty good) but what else would I use chocolate flavored olive oil in? We drove through town quickly (it is not a big place) and then back to the rig.
Tomorrow we head down to Fairfield, CA and are planning on staying at Travis AFB Famcamp. While there we are thinking about going to Napa or San Francisco. I will probably head over to Jelly Belly and get some jelly beans.
Have a good day. Here are the pictures.
