Last night was interesting. We had thunder and lightning start as well as some dark clouds. We had a few sprinkles but nothing heavy in the evening. A little after 10:00 PM it suddenly started to rain heavily. Right after that the TV shut off and we realized we had lost power. Our lights run off our batteries so they stayed on. When the power didn't come back on we decided to go to bed. Neither of us got to sleep with the pounding rain. The rain stopped in about an hour and Bill went to check to make sure it wasn't just a tripped breaker. Nope, the whole park was dark. I think the power came back on somewhere around 1:00 AM. After the rain stopped we were able to open windows so that gave us some cool air to sleep. By the time we woke up in the morning everything was fine.
We got up and I made scrambled eggs for breakfast. We hung around the rig for a bit then we got dressed to go out. We decided to head into downtown today. We found a place to park and headed over to Broadway. This is the street you see when shows or commercials talk about Nashville. This is where all the bars with live music are. There are also a number of stores and restaurants. We knew we were going to have lunch at Jack's BBQ. It is the place with the neon flying pigs out front.
Bill had ribs and I had the pulled pork shoulder. They were both really good. You know the place must be good when the local police were eating there! Also some of the locals who work in the area were there. I like their sweet tea as it isn't too sweet like some places make it.
After lunch we walked through a number of stores. If you want boots or hats this is the place to find them! There are also the typical tourist things you could buy. We didn't spend our money on anything.
We worked our way over to the Country Music Hall of Fame. First we passed the Walk of Fame.
We didn't look at all of the stars but it was nice to check out.
Across from the Walk of Fame is the Hall of Fame.
We were here a number of years before but decided to go back as they are always changing the displays. There is a lot of info here and a number of ways to tour it. We decided to take the self guided tour without the digital headsets. There is a lot to see and a lot to read. You can spend a long time in there. We spent about 2 1/2 hours. If you watch all the show clips and read everything you could spend the day. Here are a couple of pictures

After we left we headed back to the campground. When we opened the door of the rig we were met with cool air. Yeah! It was cooler today than it has been so our exploring was uncomfortable. Guess the rain last night helped to cool it down. We both took a nice nap then I started working on this. I hope you enjoy all the pictures. Remember, you can double click on the pictures to make them bigger. Here they are.
