Visiting the area

We decided to visit the PX at Oceana NAS today and also a local farmer's market.  We had a little problem finding the PX but did locate the commissary for later this weekend.  They have a nice PX, it is pretty big.  We still didn't find anything to buy but checked out things for Rory for Christmas. 


Next on our list was the Virginia Beach farmer's market.  This is a permanent facility and there are shops there 7 days a week.  As we drove over the sky started clouding up.  After we parked and got it the thunder and lightening started.  We quickly finished our exploring, I did buy a couple of things, and just as we got back to the last shop the skies opened up,  We stood there for a bit until the rain let up a bit and then made a dash to the car.  That was a mistake.  Right after stepped out from under cover the rain really came down.  The 7 mile drive back to base was slow as it was coming down in buckets.  We finally made it and got back to our rig.  It rained most of the afternoon and into the evening so we didn't do anything else today. 


I spent some time working on our reservations for the winter at Seal Beach.  I had a problem getting all the dates I want.  We really like the park but it is getting to be full all the time.  I am looking into other places to stay in the area.  Bummer.
