Oaks and Pines RV
Lake City, FL
I don't know why this got out of order but here it is.
We had a really short drive today, about 95 miles. That meant we were not in a big hurry to leave. In fact, we didn't leave until after 10:00. This also means that we arrived at about noon at this place. The campground is right off of I-10, just east of I-75 so it is easy-on, easy-off. There are also a couple of gas stations that have separate diesel pumps so we will stop there in the morning.
After settling in we drove down to Walmart. I wanted to make sure I got everything I need before we head into Walt Disney World. I know there will be stores around that area but we don't really want to drive out of the park if we don't have to. This is a small town and there isn't a lot here.
I fixed steak, twice baked potatoes, crescent rolls, and applesauce for dinner. We will probably eat out a lot at WDW so I am saving money until then.
Now about this campground. When we got into the office the woman there was nice. They do have a lot of rules they pointed out. They also lead you to your site and they park you. She got a little upset when I was directing Bill. She said, he can't listen to both of us. I told her he only listens to me. She also got a bit upset when he wanted to unhook the car before pulling into the site. The sites are really narrow. It was a tight fit for us with the slides. She finally left us to hookup. After I put the slide out Bill moved the picnic table on the next site so he could open the bay doors. After he did this the husband came racing over on his lawnmower from all the way across the campground. He yelled at him not to move the table! He wouldn't even let him explain that he would put it back when he finished! He told him if he didn't like it he could pack up and leave! We have never been treated like this before. You can see from these pictures how close we are to it.

We will absolutely never come back to this park. I plan on putting comments on RV Park Reviews and also on rv.net. Since it is a Passport America park I will probably call them and let them know how we were treated. I understand rules (there is one about not moving the tables) but that usually means not to move them off the concrete pad or to at least put them back when done. The man didn't have to be so rude. Bill didn't even get a chance to open his mouth! Even though the park is good for an overnight stay we will never be back and won't recommend it to anyone.
So that was our excitement for today. I am getting excited about WDW tomorrow.
