WDW Day 3

Tuesday, 6/09/2015
WDW, Ft Wilderness
Orlando, FL

Our plans today were to visit Epcot.  Bill has never been here and I only spent part of a day here over 20 years ago.  There certainly have been a lot of changes in that time.  I remember the World Showcase and Spaceship Earth but everything else is new to me.  To get to Epcot from Fort Wilderness the fastest way to go is to take the bus from our camp loop to the Outpost, the entrance to the campground.  Then you transfer to another bus to get to Epcot.  When the bus to Epcot pulled up it was already pretty full as it had picked up people at the Wilderness Lodge.  We got in with standing room only.  A very nice teenage boy offered me his seat.  I told his parents they were doing a good job raising him.

Once we got to Epcot we walked to the entrance, through security, and into the park.  Spaceship Earth is still the first thing you see but everything around it is new to me.  We had a Fast Pass to ride Spaceship Earth,  so we had a few minutes to wait until then.  We wandered the stores and other things in the area,

While we were checking the area out some music started and the waters started dancing.

The area surrounding the big white ball are called Future World West and Future World East.  We headed west.  Here we found "The Seas".  This area is based after Nemo and the preservation of the worlds water.  We had about one and a half hours before our next Fast Pass so we wandered around.  We thought about going in The Seas with Nemo & Friends but the wait was over 35 minutes.  There were some fish displays so we checked those out.

Next we headed over to "The Land".  It was all inside so it was nice and cool, which it wasn't outside.  We were able to get right in to see The Circle of Life, which is also about the environment.  We looked at the restaurant here and decided to come back here for lunch.  They have a big selection of items.  We finally headed back to The Seas and noticed the line for Nemo was really short so we headed in there.  It was a cute ride.  When that was over we headed into the Turtle Talk with Crush.  Another cute show.  It is Crush the turtle interacting with the audience.  When this was over we headed back to The Land and the Seasons restaurant.  It is kind of like a cafeteria.  I had Mongolian Beef with fried rice.  Bill had grilled salmon with green beans and mashed potatoes.  The food was good but a bit on the expensive side.  With a bottle of water and a small ice tea it was $32.  There goes my dining out budget.

After lunch we headed over to the World Showcase.  This is where the different countries have areas set up.  There are usually restaurants and shops displaying goods from that country.  We stopped in France for dessert.  I had a strawberry tart and Bill and creme brulee.

Oh, one funny thing is that all the workers in the different countries speak with accents from that country.  Some are good and some are not so good.

Japan

France
By this time it was really hot and I was really tired.  We caught the boat from Germany to Mexico and started back to the front gate.  You have to walk most of the way as there is nothing like a train or trolley to ride.  By this time it had clouded up pretty good and started sprinkling.  We made it to the bus just as it was getting ready to leave but they waited for us.  It started raining pretty good once we were on the bus but let up after we transferred to the loop bus at the campground.  We finally made it back to the rig and rested.

I don't think we are doing anything tonight.  Tomorrow is a resting day for us but we do have some plans.  We are planning on renting a golf cart for the day and plan on driving through all of the campground.  They are $59 a day plus tax so we didn't want to rent one and have it sit while we are at a park.

Here are all the pictures I took today.  I hope you enjoy them.
