Another travel day today with about 170 miles to go.  It is not quite as hot as it has been but we did drive most of the day with the generator and air conditioner running.  We started on I 20 but soon transitioned to I 95.  We saw signs for a place called South of the Border long before we got there.  It is located at exit 1, just before you cross into North Carolina.  I guess I would compare it to Wall Drug in South Dakota.  It started with a small taco stand (I know, Mexican food in South Carolina) and has grown to be 2 gas stations, a campground, a motel, 4 different restaurants, many little stores and other stuff.

We did stop in their restaurant called the Sombrero.  They have Mexican food  as well as Southern food.  We decided to split a taco plate and an enchilada plate.  They didn't have any combo plates.  It was not the best Mexican food we have ever had but it wasn't the worst.  I probably would not order it again.  They did have a really good looking salad bar which I would probably order if we ever stop here again.

We were soon on our way north again and found our campground without any problems.  We got checked in and setup.  The guy in the site that was over to our left had an Itasca Meridian, which is the same layout we have in our Vectra.  We talked to him for awhile.  He just got his in November and is having a couple of problems.  We steered him in the right direction on some things and he was happy.

The campground is sandy but nice.  There are a lot of trees but we got a site with satellite access.  They have a pool but we didn't use it.  We did head into town to hit a grocery store for a couple of things.

The rest of the night was quiet.  It did start raining in the night but stopped by the time we got up.

I hope you have a good day.
