Branson, MO Father's Day

Sunday, 6/19/2016
Branson, MO

We planned to spend most of the day doing things the guy's wanted to do.  Bill and I drove our car and the others went in Terry's car.  Our first stop was the zipline place the others had visited the last time we were here.  I am going to blame what happened on Terry.  I got a rock chip in my windshield just before we reached the zipline place.  Wouldn't have been there if not for Terry so the chip is his fault!  I will get it repaired this week,

After the zipline place we headed into Springfield to visit the world's largest Bass Pro Shop.  I bought a tshirt and Bill didn't get anything.  It is a very big store.

Our last stop of the day was to be the longest.  We decided to go to Lambert's Restaurant.  It is the home of the throwed rolls.  The wait was 1 1/2 hours!  We thought going for lunch there would be a shorter line but nope.  At least the weather wasn't too hot so it was okay to wait.

We were here the last time we were in Branson and wouldn't you know it, they sat us in exactly the same booth as we had before!  That was so funny.  Anyway, linner (lunch/dinner) was good.  The girls all had fried chicken.  Here is how it works.  You order your meat and 2 side dishes.  Then they walk around with fixin's like black eyed peas, fried potatoes and onions, fried okra, and tomatoes with macaroni.  They also come out to the middle of the room and throw rolls at you.  For the rolls they bring around sorgum molasses.  We all ate too much and had a good time.

When we rolled out of the restaurant we went back to the campground and after walking the dogs a bit we jumped in the pool.  That was very refreshing and we had a great time.  Once the sun went down and most of the people were at their sites we let the dogs out.  They ran around chasing Bill and retrieving things.  They really enjoyed that and let me tell you, Lola can run!  She behaved very well and came back when we told her to.

So that was our day.  I want to wish all the guys a very Happy Father's Day.  Including my Dad.
