Quapaw, MO

Tonight we are stopped just over the border in Missouri.  We are at the Downstream Casino in their campground.  Technically we are just outside of Joplin, MO.  This is basically a parking lot with hookups in it.  There doesn't seem to be any sewers but that is okay.  We drove 335 miles today (a long, long day for us) so we only have 124 tomorrow.  A nice short day.  We took the turnpike through Oklahoma.  There were really 2 turnpikes, one from OKC to Tulsa and the other from Tulsa to the state line.  The total cost was $19.50.

Here are a couple of pictures of Lola in her favorite traveling position - on my lap!  I can usually let her ride there for about an hour then she has to get down so the blood can circulate through my legs!

This park does offer a free night if you go into the casino and get a players card.  It is also a PA park so if you don't want to do that it is $15.  $30 is the regular price.  The casino isn't real close so we decided not to do that.  We just wanted to hookup and rest and the $15 was a good price.

We fixed a simple meal for dinner and ate in.  After dinner we took Lola out for some exercise.  Bill walked her first then we took her off her leash and let her run around  and stretch her legs.  We thought she might run through the sprinklers that were on but she didn't want to.  Usually she attacks water coming out of a hose or sprinkler.

We all took a short nap after we got setup.  We have been getting up early the last few days and it is finally getting to us.

So we will watch a little TV tonight and then go to bed.  Tomorrow we see our friends after a short drive.
