Williams, AZ

Williams, AZ

We took off from Needles a little later than we originally planned as Terry's new tire had leaked overnight.  He called the tire guys and they came out and replaced the stem (he had kept his old extended stem) and everything is now fine.  That must have been the problem with the other tire.  It was not a cheap lesson for him to learn.

We finally took off and ran in a caravan until we hit Kingman, AZ.  We stopped at the Flying J to fuel up and that was a mistake.  The single RV lane had two vehicles in it and the truck lanes seemed to be having problems.  We were all in the truck lanes but when the RV lanes finished before we moved up we turned around and headed over there.  Rick was the only one who got his rig fueled there.  Terry wound up going to a Chevron down the road.  Half of the truck lanes were closed for construction so this made a mess of traffic.  As soon as we finished we got back on the road.  The others did the same thing so there was a pretty good gap between us.  We reached the park first and checked in.  We are at the Grand Canyon Motel and RV Park in Williams, AZ.  It is an average park.  The Passport America sites are not pull-thru's so we are in back-in sites in the back of the park.  I found the office staff to be a bit on the rude side but they others said they were fine.  There are a lot of rules here also.  We thought about using the pool but the people already there said it was cold.

We decided to go out to dinner at Rod's Steakhouse.  The food was good.  Janie, Lydia and I had prime rib, Rick had a steak and Bill and Terry and liver and onions.  Everyone said the meal was good and a couple of the people said it was the best.

Back at the rig we sat outside and talked about the shows in Branson a bit and then went inside to watch TV and things.  Everyone hit the hay a bit early.

Tomorrow we head to Holbrook, AZ for another overnight stay.
