Dayton, OH
Sunday was Bill's Birthday. Our plan for the day was to spend some time with the kids. We waited for their call before heading down to the house. We sat around and talked for a bit before we piled into our car and headed out to Dickey's BBQ for dinner. Rory gave me driving instructions as we went and we got there anyway! We gave him the flags they handed out at the concert last night. He put on his own parade in the house.
We had a good dinner at Dickey's and Rory especially liked the ice cream. All too soon we were headed back to the house. After a bit of visiting we headed back to the base.
Monday, our country's birthday, we met the kids at the National Museum of the Air Force. We have been here before but they have a new exhibit we had not seen. It was raining but we made it to the museum. I guess a lot of people had the same idea about being inside today because of the rain as there was a crowd. We visited the new exhibit and then headed out to spend a little time at the rig. I rode with Aimee and Rory and Nick rode with Bill. We showed them the rig and campground.
Soon we headed back to the house for a BBQ with the family. Aimee's dad, John, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. We had a good meal and visited and laughed a lot. All too soon it was time to head home. We will be staying home for a couple of days and will get back together on Thursday.
Hope you had a great Holiday weekend.
