Offutt AFB Famcamp, Omaha, NE

At least it wasn't raining when we woke up this morning.  We decided not to shower but to just get on the road.  So after a quick breakfast of toast, brushing our teeth and putting last minute things away we were on the road about 8:30.  It rained so much last night that the office of the campground was flooded.  They were hauling stuff out and cleaning up when we left.

My refrigerator has a very finicky part on it.  When it rains a lot or if you are not careful when you wash it, the refrigerator will not work.  It must dry out and you need to reset a switch.  So it went out last night and still wasn't working this morning.  We got on the road and the wind dried out the area.  It finally fired up and is working fine now.  Of course it never rains in California so we don't have that problem there.

The drive was long today, 242 miles.  We stopped for fuel once and stopped at a rest area for Lola to walk around.  She looks so pitiful when she stares at you while we are driving down the road.  So we take pity on her and stop at more rest areas than we normally would stop at.

We are stopped for the night at the Offutt Air Force Base Famcamp.  We are to the Southeast of Omaha, NE.  We planned on staying here for 2 nights but could only get in for one.  Oh well.  We took a quick run to the PX and Commissary to pick some things up.  We ate a late lunch at the PX and it will probably be our dinner too,

The Famcamp is on a large lake and is not on the base.  This would be an easy place to bring friends with us.  We have been here before.  Bill recognized it as we got closer.  We are in site 18.  It is a nice site but there is a tree that is partially blocking the satellite.  I didn't feel like re-positioning so we are just going to live with it.  We get all the channels but are not getting the schedule.  Good thing there is nothing on tonight.

Google has made some changes to the program I use for pictures.  They bought Picasa a few years ago and have stopped support of it.  Now I have to use Google Pictures.  I haven't figured out how to post slideshows yet.  Since I won't be taking a lot of pictures for the rest of the trip it won't matter but I should have it figured out before we hit the road next year.  What a bummer.

So that is all for today.  Have a good night.
