Elm Creek, NE
We wanted to stay another day at Offutt AFB but they didn't have any spaces for Saturday, so off we went. Nebraska is almost as long to drive across as parts of Texas; except you don't see sand and cactus. You see corn! Field after field of corn.
We are spending the next two nights at Sunny Meadows RV in Elm Creek, NE. It is a PA park but there isn't much here to recommend it other than the cost - $20 a night. We are both tired from driving daily and need to do some laundry too.
Most of the sites are taken by permanent people and they don't keep them cleaned up. We will probably not stop here again.
Saturday was a day for getting settled. We stayed in and didn't do much. On Sunday we did laundry and then headed back to Kearney, NE. It is the closest town. The car needed a bath so we found a carwash. We also found that most everything is closed on Sunday afternoon! We did find a restaurant called Whiskey Creek Steakhouse. It is a chain restaurant. It wasn't too bad. Lola liked the leftover steak.
We should be back in Calif in about a week. I guess we could drive longer days but why?
