Gallup, NM
USA RV Park
Today was a stay put and relax day. We did sleep in about an hour. Last night the park filled up but this morning many of the rigs are pulling out. Here are a couple of pics of the park.
We finally got up and had breakfast. Before leaving I put a turkey meatloaf in the crockpot so we will have a nice dinner tonight. Afterward we headed into town and Walmart to pick up a few things. Also gave us a chance to drive the car a bit after a couple of days of towing. The wind has really picked up today and even blew the car around. Good thing we are not on the road. I hope the wind stops for tomorrow.
I spent a bit of the day making reservations for the next few days. I also looked at the campground in Pennsylvania that we stay at and found out we can't spend the amount of time we wanted to. This required us to make some minor changes in the schedule. The biggest problem with reservations seems to be over weekends. I also made our reservation in Nashville. When I signed into the site it said there were only 4 sites available, Turns out one of them is our favorite site! Yeah, I booked that quickly. There are a lot of rigs on the road and the news says that they expect a lot of people on the road this year due to the rise in RV sales and the lower price of gas. Guess they are right. After more than 10 years of traveling it looks like we may have to start making reservations earlier in the year. This park filled up again last night. BTW, this park is the sister park of our favorite one in Amarillo, Oasis. We will be staying there too.
We walked up the cafe to get ice cream after dinner. We got there a bit early and had to wait about 45 minutes before they served ice cream. Dinner is from 5:30 to 7:30, which is when they start dessert service.
There is nothing on TV this week so I read and Bill spent some time on his computer. Tomorrow we head out so we located our choice of fuel stops for the day.
Have a good night
