Henderson, NE
Prairie Oasis Campground
Our plan called for only 150 miles today so we decided to go out to breakfast. There are only 2 places in town that serve breakfast. One is the restaurant in the Flying J called American Pie. The other is in town call Embers. Bill talked to the camp host and they recommended the Embers so that is where we went. The food was good but the service was slow. I don't think the cook knew how to cook more than one plate at a time. The price was good, too. Bill was happy the coffee and tea were only $.95.
We stopped outside of Omaha, NE in Gretna, NE for fuel at the Flying J. The price has been between $2.49 and $2.59 for awhile now. I wonder what it is in California.
We located the campground easily. Of course, the fact that it is only 1/2 mile north of the interstate made that easy to do. The owners here have only been around for about a year. I don't know what it was like before but it is pretty nice. The price is a bit high for my taste but it seems all the campgrounds in the area are priced high. I did our laundry after we got in. It had been awhile and I had a lot to do. But at least that is done for another week. Bill and Lola walked around a rested a bit while I was doing laundry.
After dinner we settled in for the night. Tomorrow we move again. We are planning on stopping 2 nights in Cheyenne, WY so I can go grocery shopping and we can rest a bit.
I spent some time on the phone with friends. A couple of our friends were in a traffic accident last night and we were getting information from all of them. I know Jim & Mary will be OK but it is such a shock to hear of an accident. We also heard that the Rustlers dance was very good last night with 16 squares.
I have to wash dishes now so good night.
