Thurs-Sun

Thursday-Sunday, 8/3-8/06/2017
Dayton, OH
Wright-Patterson AFB

The time is going quickly.  Some days we stay home and other days we do stuff.  We generally do the most on the weekends when Nick is off work.  Bill and I are still looking at houses and have narrowed down the areas we like.  We took the kids to a couple of open houses of places we like or saw with our real estate person.  Some of the places we liked are now under contract so we were not able to show the kids those.  Hopefully there will be something we like in these areas when we are ready to purchase.

The kids are coming out in Oct to help us sort through some of the things they left behind so we know what to pack and what to sell in a yard sale.  We hope to get everything down to a small Pod to be shipped.  Things like our clothes will go in the motorhome to be brought with us.  It looks like I may have to buy some winter clothes, especially boots.

Rory has been good about going to the open houses.  He enjoys seeing all the places.  He even has opinions on the houses.  We did stop at an open house we drove past and knew the house was bigger and more expensive than we wanted but we stopped anyway.  I loved this place  It had a great layout and was quality built.  But I don't need a place that was as big as this one was.  The basement was finished and Bill said he would live down there and I could live on the ground floor.  It was a great deal for $479,000.

I spent some time on the phone with Terry on Friday.  It was good to talk to him and I asked some questions about what I needed to know when we move.  Hopefully the house will sell quickly and we can leave in early Nov.

We will be here for two more weeks then start back after a stop in Forest City to get the air conditioner looked at.  Hopefully they can fix whatever is wrong.  We are still thinking about selling it next year but that will depend on a lot of things.

That is all for now.  I hope you have a good time.
