Gallup, NM Santa Rosa, NM
It has been getting pretty cold at night. We have been making sure there is water in our tank and then putting the hoses away. The days have been getting into the high 60's or 70's but the night are getting close to or below freezing. I guess this is our life from now on.
Each night we review the next days travel plans since we can't really make off the cuff changes with us in two separate vehicles. We look for fuel stops and rest areas. My car doesn't need near the fuel the RV does but I fill up at about 1/2 tank. Generally I try to go out in the evening after we park to put fuel in my car.
In Gallup, NM we stayed in the USA RV Park, a place we have stayed many times before. We like the park as they have long pull-through sites. During the summer they serve a BBQ dinner. In Santa Rosa we are staying at the Santa Rosa RV Park. It is also nice and they served dinner tonight so we ate there. We had a combo BBQ plate with ribs and beef brisket.
Today was a long day with over 250 miles. It was hard driving that long. We planned to stop at a rest area just outside of Albuquerque, NM but discovered it was further out than we thought. We finally got there and rested and had lunch. Then on into the campground. Tonight is not suppose to be as cold so we can leave the water hooked up.
Saturday finds us in Amarillo, TX for 2 nights.
