The Zoo

Friday 12/22/2017

I can't believe it has been about 2 weeks since my last post.  We have been busy doing everyday things.  Still going to stores and looking for stuff for decorating.  I can't wait until all the Christmas stuff if gone and they have regular stuff out again.  I think we have all the furniture we need.  I say that and then buy something new.

I have been baking for Christmas.  I made some fudge and have mixed up cookie dough which I plan to bake today.  I am not making as much as I have in the past.  We just don't need that much junk food.

Yesterday we went with Aimee & Rory to the zoo to see Santa and the lights.  Her mother, sister and niece were also there.  We stopped at Cracker Barrel for dinner on our way home and Nick met us there.  Here are some pictures.  My phone camera makes them look lighter than it was.

It was warm in the sun.   OK, it was only in the 50's but that is warm for here!  This weekend it is suppose to get cold, in the teens.  I think winter is definitely here.  We might also get some more snow.  Even a white Christmas!

Bill met a couple of our neighbors.  He has been outside doing things like trimming back a bush and working in the garage.  One of them was the treasurer of the Association.  He gave Bill some info on the group and where our boundary lines are.

Because it is cold here my car has not been getting the mileage I was getting in CA.  I expected this to happen because I am running the heater more and that causes the engine to kick in.  I still get really good mileage though.  Fuel prices here are weird.  One day the price is $2.14.  The next day it is $2.45, then it drops down the next day into the $2.20's.  CA has wild swings in price but not this bad.  I know, I am complaining about gas being $2.45!

Rory's pre-school held a performance one evening and we went to it.  They sang songs and it was cute.  They served cookies afterwards.

So that is all for now. Bye.
