This week has slowed down a bit. Most of our furniture is here now with just a few pieces trickling in. Now I turn my focus to decorating! That is the hardest part. I don't like a lot of knick knacks sitting around to be dusted but I have to have some to make the house complete. I have curtains on order for the master bedroom, the living room and the dining room. I don't think I am going to curtains in the office as there are mini blinds. I will put some in the guest bedroom as soon as I get a bed for in there.
We found a recycle place to take all the cardboard from the furniture but nobody will take all the Styrofoam so we have to cut it up and add it to the trash a little at a time. We even put some in the dumpster at the kids place to help get rid of it. Rory liked playing with it but we don't like the mess it leaves.
Nick & Aimee had a birthday party for Rory and a few of his friends last Saturday. She did a great job decorating and having the kids play "older" games like pin the tail on the donkey. Everyone had fun. We picked Lola up on Friday after we dropped Rory off from his play and she stayed with us for Friday and Saturday nights. She had not been to the house yet and was really confused as to where she was! It was like, I know the people but don't know the place. She settled down quickly and we had a good time. Aimee had a bunch of balloons at the house and Lola loves to pop balloons so it was better that she stay with us.
Bill and I went to the BMV (that is what they call the DMV here) to get new drivers licenses and register the two cars. You have to drive the cars in so we couldn't take the rig. When it gets out of the shop we will take it over and register it. Only problem is that they have a very small parking lot so we are going to have to hope they have open street parking on that day. We may have to drive around the area a bit and see if we can find a big parking lot. We were there for almost 2 hours! First they had to inspect the cars to make sure the VIN numbers were good and to check the mileage. Then we had to go next door to change the titles from CA to OH. Then back to do our drivers licenses and register the newly titled cars. Oh, and I was getting handicapped plates and a placard. It is funny that nobody asked for proof of insurance or proof of residency. The title place just took our word for the fact that we live here and then we got to use the title for proof of residency for the license! Anyway, we got that done and went home. They said it is OK to wait on the rig until we get it out of the shop.
It is getting colder this week and there is a possibility of snow on Saturday but it is not suppose to stick around. It is sunny outside so you can forget it is cold until you open the door! Temps are suppose to drop into the 20's and 10's. My first gas bill will be interesting.
We are spending the next few days sorting out the office, now that we have both desks here. I have collected a bunch of paper that needs to be gone through to see what needs to be kept and what needs to be thrown away. We also got a file cabinet so I need to get stuff arranged in there.
Well, that is all for now. Bye

I am surprised they do not have a place to take styrofoam! We do here. Glad you are getting settled in.
