Busy Week

Actually, it is a little more than a week.  Bill's 75th birthday was on July3rd.  We went out to lunch with the kids and the in-laws.  Aimee had decided to go to the Lebanon 4th of July festival which was held on the 3rd.  We went with them for a bit.  They had a lot of activities for the kiddos and Rory enjoyed that.  Bill and I decided not to wait for the fireworks, which were scheduled for about 10:00 PM but the kids waited.  They let Rory stay up.  Aimee said Rory was rocking out to the band that was playing.  He also really enjoyed the fireworks.  So on the 4th we spent a quiet day at home.

We picked the rig up from storage on Saturday and brought it to the house to load.  We parked on the side of the house and plugged it in.  The refrigerator started right up.  We opened the windows and vents to cool it off.  We loaded most of the stuff in on Saturday.  Sunday afternoon I loaded the food and we headed off to the campground.  We are spending 4 nights at Caesar Creek Campground.  We went in on Sunday so that we could open it up and clean inside.  It hasn't been used since we got here and needed a good cleaning.  I had to make a list of things I forgot to bring so that when we went to pick up Rory of Monday we could stop at the house and get them.  I couldn't remember what I left in it over the winter.  The campground is about 15 miles from our so going home isn't a problem.

The patio people called last week and arranged to start on the patio on Monday.  When we got  there on Monday they were digging up the yard to get started.  They finished with it on Thursday around noon.  I really like the way it looks.  Now we need to get our table, chairs, umbrella and fire pit out there.  What do you think?  We need to water the grass to get it growing again.

We picked up Rory on Monday around noon and took him and Lola to the campground.  Lola is used to the rig and was good.  Rory enjoyed camping.  We also took him to the lake campground beach to swim a bit.  He liked that.  We played catch and he brought his scooter.  We had a campfire on both nights.  We cooked hot dogs on Monday over the open fire for dinner.  We also made s'mores both nights.  He really liked those and he liked putting things in the fire to burn.

He liked sleeping in the "house on wheels" and will go again.  Maybe in August before school starts.  Around here that is August 15.  He does wear me out though.

The kids got a membership to a local pool for the summer.  We are on the account and will be taking Rory swimming next week.  They have gone a few times and really enjoy it.  In fact, Aimee went for a little bit when we had Rory!  Ah, adult time.

My Dad's birthday was on the 11th so I called and talked to him.  We miss everyone in Calif.

I have been keeping an eye on the weather in Calif and saw that it was 120 in Yorba Linda.  Glad we moved before that heat.  We have had a couple of days in the 90's here and it gets muggy on some days.  Usually when it gets really hot we also get thunderstorms.  That causes the mugginess.

So that is all for now.  More later.
