Saturday-Monday, May 23-25

Saturday, May 23

No rain if forecast today so we got dressed and headed out to work in the garden.  We got the weeds out of the portion we worked on. It is an endless task keeping weeds out of the whole thing. I do believe I pulled up some flowers/plants but I don’t care. It was warm and a bit muggy.

I spent the day with computer games. We both took naps today. When we went to go for our evening walk we saw it was raining!  We didn’t do a morning walk. All the work in the grades counted as our exercise. Oh, wait a minute, it stopped raining so we took a chance and got our walk in.

Dinner was spaghetti. Easy to make with my frozen sauce. Too bad I am now out. Time to make another batch. I also took the last 4 cupcakes out of the freezer for dessert and frosted them.

Sunday, May 24.

We went over to the kids house today to pick up a shelving/storage unit they were no longer using. It is small so fits in the closet under our staircase and we can put Rory’s toys in it. We also got some additional toys he didn’t want to keep at home. We visited for a bit before they headed to our house with us. We decided to have sandwiches so we placed an order online and they stopped to pick it up on their way here. We brought Lola with us. Aimee wanted to set up and organize the unit at our house.  We have their BBQ here and I do use it but instead of use buying a new on and transporting this one to their house I said for them to buy a new one and I will pay for it and keep theirs. We also talked about a slip n slide for Rory. I ordered one that he can use here. Since the splash pads are not open yet it will give him something to do there. We will be watching him at least one day a week during the summer. Rory also lost his front tooth today, just before we got there.

We spent a few hours visiting and playing before they went home. Bill and I went for our evening walk but didn’t do one this morning.

We decided that dinner was just going to be nibbling from the fridge. There is a Memorial Day show on PBS tonight that I am going to watch.

Monday, May 25

I decided to make scrambled eggs and cinnamon rolls for breakfast.  We don’t have any real plans for today. Is is going to be hot, I. The 80’s and we don’t want to be around all th either people.  We did take a drive out to the boat repair place to see if they were open yet. We now have to make an appointment for work.  It used to be just being it in. We also drove by the boat launch at the lake. It was really busy for the holiday. I am hoping during the week is better.

Dinner was steamed halibut and roasted potatoes.   I thing fancy.  I need to get the grill uncovered so I can start bbqing. I will probably cook a few thingA and then JSU’s warm them later for meals.

We watched the PBS Memorial Day show that I recorded.  It is something I like to watch each year. It was really well done.

We did get our walks in even though it was hot and muggy.
